Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga- The Augusta University Women's basketball team dropped a Peach Belt Conference contest to the visiting Clayton State Lakers. The Jaguars fall to 5-7, 4-4 in conference while the Lakers move to 9-4, 9-4 in PBC Play.

The Jaguars were led by November Morton's season high 22 points. Going 6-for-10 from beyond the arc, the junior showcased her best offensive effort for the season. Kennedi Manning led the team in rebounding with 7.
Clayton State won the rebounding battle 44-31. Both teams were plagued by turnovers, with Augusta committing 27 to Clayton State's 20. The visiting team capitalized, scoring 33points off turnovers.
After keeping the score within a few points for the first quarter, a made three-pointer by November Morton gave the Jags a 14-13 lead with 9:45 left in the second quarter. An answering three pointer by Praise Russell put the Lakers back on top by 2 with 7:18 left in the first half. Clayton State went on a 7-3 scoring run at the end of the half, sending the Jaguars back to the locker room down 23-18 at the half.
Two early turnovers by AU helped Clayton extend their lead, but a fast break lay-up and forced foul by Asia Harrison brought the score to 33-27 with 6:49 in the 3rd quarter. Two made shots from beyond the arc by Morton helped AU tie the game with 6 minutes left in the game. Hot shooting by Clayton State's Audrey Mcelhaney helped 70—58 defeat of Augusta.
The Jaguars are back on the road this Wednesday Feb 24th to take on Francis Marion before returning home Saturday for their final regular-season game against UNC Pembroke.
