The Jaguar men are making their fifth NCAA National team appearance in the last ten years. The team earned an automatic berth after carding second in the NCAA Southeast Region Championships.
From Head Coach Jacob Burgamy
"The snow and rain over the past couple of days has made the course into a bit of a mess which will be a great equalizer in the morning. Our 1 through 5 spread may be a little wider than normal because of it, but conditions like this typically benefit the grittier, more strength based teams, which is what we pride ourselves on being. So we like to think that this will be a benefit to us."
This year, the Augusta Jaguars won their fourth straight Peach Belt Conference men's cross country championship at Redcliffe Plantation. For the second year in a row, the Jaguars turned in a perfect team score of 15, taking the top five scoring places and sending the first six runners across the line.
Augusta has won seven PBC Championships, five in the last six years. Augusta senior
Kai Brickey became the sixth PBC men's runner to repeat as individual champion.
Patrick Motes was named PBC Runner of the Year and first year head coach
Jacob Burgamy was named PBC Coach of the Year.
