KENOSHA, Wis. – Augusta cross country closed its 2025 season on Saturday at the NCAA Division II National Championship in Kenosha, Wis., with senior Madison Thomas and Nasrudin Mohamed competing individually after qualifying out of the NCAA Southeast Regional. Both runners earned NCAA All-Region and Peach Belt All-Conference honors this postseason and finished as the second-highest Peach Belt Conference athletes in their respective national championship races.
Results
Madison Thomas placed 169th overall in the women's 6K championship race with a time of 22:29.4. Thomas earned her national berth by finishing among the top two individuals not on a qualifying team at the NCAA Southeast Regional. She closed her season as the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Year, an All-Conference honoree, and Augusta's top performer throughout championship season.
Nasrudin Mohamed finished 118th overall in the men's 10K championship race, clocking 31:54.5. Mohamed also advanced to nationals as one of the top two individual qualifiers from the NCAA Southeast Regional who were not on an advancing team. His fall included All-Region and All-Conference recognition, along with a top-six finish at the Peach Belt Conference Championships.
Thomas and Mohamed's performances on the national stage cap a strong 2025 campaign for Augusta cross country, which included runner-up finishes at the Peach Belt Conference Championships and NCAA Regional qualifications for both programs.
