MT BERRY, Ga. – The Augusta University Women's Track & Field team opened their season this past weekend. The Victor Ice Break Duals was hosted by Berry College in Mt Berry, Georgia.
Hannah Beach and
Cassie Lagan took the top 2 spots in the 5000m.
Hannah Beach took home first with a time of 18:36.83.
Cassie Lagan finished second with a time of 19:01.94.
Sprinter
Priscilla Ajala also carded a first place finish. The sophomore finished 1
st in the 100m in 12.17.
Haley Gilbert notched two top-ten finishes for the day. Gilbert ran the 800m in 2:31.42, finishing 6
th after running the 1500m in 5:03.78 and finishing 5
th.
Newcomer Parmelie Andris finished in the top 3 for the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.95.
Rachel Lovell also finished in the top three for her event. Lovell carded second in women's high jump, hitting the 1.57m mark.
Augusta women's track competes next at the Trojan Opener on Friday, March 18
th in Anderson, SC
