DORADO, Puerto Rico – The Augusta University men's golf team shot even-par during the first 18 holes of the Dorado Beach Collegiate in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
Playing at the par-72 TPC Dorado Beach, the Jaguars are tied for ninth place with Rutgers. Augusta trails No. 2 Auburn by three strokes. Host No. 58 UNCG and No. 39 Cincinnati lead the field after the first round.
Stefan Jacobs led Augusta for the day, finishing in a tie for 12
th with a 3-under-par round. Jacobs carded six birdies on Sunday.
Behn Heyns shot 72 for an even-par opening round.
Hampus Wijkstrom shot 1-over-par today while
CJ van Wyk was 2-over.
Ian Pienaar was 4-over-par.
The second round will begin at 8:30 a.m. local time on Monday, followed by the third and final round Tuesday morning.
