AUGUSTA, Ga– The Augusta University baseball team defeated Coker 8-4 at home Wednesday in non-conference action. The Jaguars have now won nine of their last eleven games and are 11-10 for the season.
The Jags travel to Georgia College for a three day Peach Belt Conference weekend series March 17-19.
Harrison Aulds opened scoring for AU off a single in the first inning, driving
Kyle Lodise home for a single score. Aulds would strike again in the third inning, utilizing another single to center field to to put Augusta up 2-0. In the fourth inning,
Koby Ayala doubled, scoring
Jared Martin.
Augusta scored three runs in the sixth inning. AU's big bats were led by Kyle Laroche and
Koby Ayala, all knocking in runs in the inning.
A 2RBI homer by the visiting Cobras in the fifth put Coker on the board for the first time.
Kyle LaRoche answered with a solo home run in the sixth inning, An Ayala single in the inning scored Joe Saccente and
Parker Ingram for a 6-2 Augusta advantage.
After Coker tacked on two scores in the top of the seventh inning, a double from LaRoche and a single from Lodise in the eighth inning secured the 8-4 victory for the home team.
Logan Howell led the Jags to victory on the mound. Howell allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one.

Brian Trepanier all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Kelly recorded the last six outs to earn the save
Augusta University Jaguars racked up 15 hits. LaRoche, Ayala, Lodise, and Aulds each managed multiple hits for Augusta. Ayala and LaRoche each collected three hits to lead the Jaguars
