CHALOTTE, NC –Augusta track's
Riley Triplett notched a personal best in the 5,000m and a first place finish on Saturday at the Charlotte 49er Classic at the Charlotte-Irwin Belk T&F Center. Triplett and three other 5k runners raced in Charlotte while the rest of the team competed at the Trojan Opener in Anderson, S.C.
"We took a handful of people up to Charlotte to get into some competitive 5ks and 10ks and it was well worth the trip despite the pouring rain," said head coach Jacob Burgamy. "Hans broke his own school record in the 10k & Avery, Carlos, Tripp, Hannah, Riley, Madison, and Patrick all ran personal bests in their events. Lots of positives to take away from this one. Thanks to Edinboro University for bringing a pacer and helping set up this 10k record attempt."
