Daytona Beach, Fla. – The Augusta University men's track and field team closed out the Peach Belt Conference Championship hosted by Embry-Riddle University at the ERAU Track Complex this weekend. After the second and final day of action, the Jaguar men finished fourth with a score of 111 points.

"It was a really exciting weekend for our men who took home a handful of individual wins," said head coach Jacob Burgamy. "
Hans Troyer was a double champion in the 10k and Steeple,
Patrick Motes won the 5k, and
Eduardo Perez won the hammer. On top of that we had a ton of personal bests and another school record go down (Eddie in the hammer) so I'd like to consider this another step in the right direction."
The Jaguars carded four individual PBC Championships in Daytona.
Hans Troyer won the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:2290.
Andrew Todd finished third in 9:36.00 while
Andrew Cole finished 7
th.
Patrick Motes won the 5000m event, finishing his race in 15:00.09.
Avery Jaynes, Trip Miller,
Carlos Rodriguez, and
Nasrudin Mohamed finished in the top-10.

Andrew Helfers,
Thomas Rischar,
Cailan Howard, Shahzed Rashid, and
Cameron Watson all finished in the top 25.
All Augusta University 10,000m runners finished in the top 15.
Hans Troyer won the event in 32:05.62.
Avery Jaynes crossed the line less than one second later for second place. Tripp Miller,
Thomas Rischar, and
Carlos Rodriguez finished in the top 10.
In the 110m hurdles,
Terrell Stokes carded eighth with a time of 16:58.
In the 400m hurdles,
Churchill Ezeokonkwo turned in a 57.92 time for a seventh place finish.
In the field events,
Eduardo Perez won the hammer event with a new school record 45.05m. He also took second in the shot put and fourth in the discus. Perez was the single biggest point-scorer for Augusta at the meet.

Alex Rountree finished the javelin fifth at the 49.01m mark while
Ryan Li finished seventh.
Caine Varnell finished the decathlon third with 4560 points while
Jared Talman finished seventh overall.
