Daytona Beach, Fla. – The Augusta University women's track and field team finished fifth at the 2023 Peach Belt Conference Championship hosted by Embry-Riddle University at the ERAU Track Complex this weekend.

"Our women made some progress and moved up the leaderboard a bit from last years finish as a team," said head coach Jacob Burgamy. "
Priscilla Ajala was a double sprint champ in the 100 & 200, broke her school record in the 200, and was named track athlete of the meet which was a heck of a way to end her senior season."
Priscilla Ajala highlighted the Augusta squad competing in Florida, taking home first place in both the 100m and 200m events before being named PBC Women's track Athlete of the Year. Ajala ran 11.94 in the 100m to cross the line first. Her championship 200m time was 24.62.
Parmelie Andris had a strong showing, capturing all-conference honors with her third place finish in the 400m hurdles.
In the 5000m event,
Hannah Beach led the Jaguar runners, finishing in sixth in 18:15.37.
Riley Triplett finished eighth in 18:26.13.
Madison Kennedy and
Cassie Lagan also finished in the top 20.
In the 10,000m event, all Augusta runners were in the top 15.
Hannah Beach again paced the distance runners in fifth with a 38:36.72.
Cassie Lagan turned in a 39:31.05 for sixth place.
Madison Kennedy and
Haley Gilbert finished 10
th and 11
th respectively.

The Augusta 4x100m relay team (
Haley Gilbert,
Caroline Pierce,
Madison Kennedy,
Hannah Beach) were sixth, finishing in 4:22.02. The 4x400m relay team (
Riley Triplett,
Haley Gilbert,
Cheyenne Ryan, Parmelie Andris) also finished sixth overall.
In the field events, Avya Dottin picked up all-conference honors in the triple jump with 10.77m mark.

Rachel Lovell finished sixth overall. Lovell also finished fifth in the high jump.
Kaitlyn Lancaster finished fourth in the javelin (36.72m) and sixth in the shot put (11.21m).
Julia Anderson 24.70m mark in the discus was enough for 11
th place.
