GREENWOOD, SC – The Augusta University men's tennis team participated in the 2024 Lander Bearcat Invitational, competing in both singles and doubles over two days of matches.
Day 1 – Singles:
- Enzo Garutti defeated Noah Pawirodirjo (Young Harris), 6-3, 5-7, (11-13).
- Arthur Valette defeated Mason Harmon (Young Harris), 6-7, 5-7.
- Alexis Bailhache defeated Caleb McCurry (Young Harris), 6-4, 6-2.
- David Perret won against Gregor Gottein (Young Harris), 6-3, 6-3.
- Enzo Sakiyama lost to Juho Kantola (North Greenville), 2-6, 1-6.
- Luis Oliva Ewel lost to Christo Timini (North Greenville), 5-7, 4-6.
- Humberto Pinto won against Gabriel Pegoraro (North Greenville), 4-6, 6-2, (15-13).
- Redwane Bouhadja lost to William Hernandez (North Greenville), 3-6, 2-6.
Day 2 – Singles:
- Enzo Sakiyama lost to Diego Segovia (NC Wesleyan), 4-6, 7-6 (8), 10-7.
- David Perret defeated Bohdan Zhylchuk (NC Wesleyan), 5-7, 7-5, 8-10.
- Humberto Pinto lost to Albert Sitwell (NC Wesleyan), 6-1, 7-6 (5).
- Mario Curiel lost to Rodrigo Montes de Oca (NC Wesleyan), 6-4, 7-5.
- Redwane Bouhadja lost to Fabian Bilton (Lander University), 6-1, 6-0.
Doubles:
- Enzo Garutti and Alexis Bailhache won 6-2 against Noah Pawirodirjo and Greyson Williams (Young Harris) and 6-2 against Juho Kantola and William Hernandez (North Greenville) before losing 6-4 to Albert Sitwell and Luca Knese (NC Wesleyan).
- Arthur Valette and David Perret won 7-5 against Mason Harmon and Gregor Gottein (Young Harris) and 6-3 against Juan Arbelaez and Christo Timini (North Greenville), but were defeated by Diego Segovia and Rodrigo Montes de Oca (NC Wesleyan), 6-4.
- Enzo Sakiyama and Luis Oliva Ewel lost to C. McCurry and H. Hall (Young Harris), 6-4.
- Humberto Pinto and Mario Curiel lost 5-7 to Parker Rowan and Mika Sheth (Young Harris).
The Jaguars will return to action on October 18 and 19 for matches against Division I The Citadel.
