AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Augusta University golf team carded a two-round total of 6-under-par 570 (284-286) on Saturday to tie for second place after the opening day of the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.

No. 1 North Carolina holds the team lead after the first 36 holes at 16-under-par 560 (281-279). Augusta is tied with Texas (285-285) for second at 6-under 570, while Oklahoma State is fourth at 3-under 573 (285-288). Only five of the 15 teams competing in the event recorded under-par scores through the opening two rounds on Saturday. The 15-team field features five squads in the Top 25 of the national rankings provided by Scoreboard powered by Clippd.
Augusta's home tournament concludes with a final round on Sunday, April 7. AU will be paired with North Carolina and Texas for Sunday's final round and will tee off beginning at 10:10 a.m. E.T.
Graduate Student
Ryan van der Klis carded a 3-under round of 69 after shooting a 73 in the first round to head into the final round tied for tenth overall. Teammate
Stefan Jacobs also finished the day 2-under par after firing rounds of 70 and 72.
Cole Stevens shaved two strokes off his first-round round score, turning in a 71 in Round 2 to finish the day tied for 17
th.
Dawson Booth shot rounds of 71 and 74 to finish tied for 21
st (+1).
Dean Wilken rounded out AU's group, finishing the day tied for 39
th (+2)
Playing as an individual,
Josh Koekemoer shot a 74 in the first round and 79 in the second to head into the final 18 holes tied for 57
th.
