After starting the season in Wisconsin, the women's golf team won't have to travel far for their second tournament of the fall. Augusta University will head to Greenville, SC for the 50th annual Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman University.  The three-day tournament will run Friday through Sunday at the Furman University Golf Club.

Keira Gonzalez-McCarthy finished in a tie for sixth in the team's first tournament of the year. Now, she and the rest of the Jaguars will look to build off their experience to improve this weekend. Gonzalez-McCarthy is a sophomore and was the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year last season and is off to a solid start in the fall portion of the schedule.

Sara Adams had flashes of solid play and shot a -1 (71) in the second round of the Badger Invitational. Adams round of 71 is a shot off her career best, which came a year ago which came at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate.

Coach Ember Holloway is confident with this team as they look to improve everyday.

"Coming off the Badger Invitational we learned as a group, it is the small things we need to polish up," said Holloway. "Getting 1% better every day is what we are chasing. And we as a group are looking to use our regular season to learn and grow and gain experience so can be ready come April for post-season. This team realizes the potential is there and we just need to stay the course and trust in our preparations."

This year's Lady Paladin Invitational will have 13 teams competing with a shotgun start both Friday and Saturday. The final round is scheduled to go off at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Augusta University was co-champions a year ago as they tied with Furman for the team title. Ball State, Western Kentucky, Georgia State and Old Dominion are just some of the teams competing in the tournament.
