AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University women's basketball standout Quinasia Abercrombie has been named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, the league announced Tuesday. Abercrombie was also voted third-team All-Conference.
Abercrombie made an immediate impact for the Jaguars in her first collegiate season, starting all 28 games and leading the team in scoring. She finished the regular season ranked 17th in the PBC in scoring, while also standing seventh in the conference in rebounding and 15th in steals.
The Greenville, S.C., native recorded six double-doubles on the season and was named PBC Player of the Week on Dec. 9. Her consistent performances helped drive Augusta throughout the year, pushing the team to its second consecutive 20 win season. Abercrombie becomes just the third Jaguar to earn Freshman of the Year honors, joining an elite group that includes Asia Harrison (2019).
