INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Augusta University women's tennis team remains ranked ninth in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, reflecting results through April 27. The Jaguars hold an 11-7 overall record and are 11-6 within the region.
The Peach Belt Conference continues to showcase strong representation in the region rankings, with five teams among the top ten: North Georgia (18-6) is No. 2, Columbus State (15-5) is No. 3, Flagler College (19-5) is No. 4, Georgia College (15-6) is No. 7, and Augusta (11-7) is No. 9.
Catawba (23-0) from the South Atlantic Conference leads the region at No. 1, followed by Wingate University (17-5) at No. 5. Lees-McRae (15-3) and Erskine (15-6) represent Conference Carolinas at No. 6 and No. 8, respectively, while Coker (14-6) rounds out the top ten at No. 10.
Nationally, several Southeast Region teams are featured in the latest ITA Division II Top 50 rankings released on April 30: North Georgia is No. 4, Flagler is No. 8, Columbus State is No. 9, Georgia College is No. 29, Erskine is No. 44, Coker is No. 47, and Augusta is No. 50.
The Southeast Region field includes automatic qualifiers from the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas, and the Peach Belt Conference tournaments, along with the top five remaining teams in the final region rankings. The NCAA Division II national tournament selection criteria consider in-region winning percentage, Division II winning percentage, strength of schedule, head-to-head competition, and results against common Division II opponents.
