GREENWOOD, S.C. – Augusta University dropped a 5-2 decision to Lander on Saturday afternoon in Peach Belt Conference action at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

The teams split doubles courts, but Lander claimed the opening point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Julieta Palma and Priscilla Landi earned Augusta's doubles win with a 6-1 decision at No. 2.

In singles play, the Jaguars picked up two points. Luciana Bejarano earned a straight-set victory, 6-4, 6-4, while Camila Taborga added a 7-5, 6-3 win.

Andrea Gonzalez pushed her match to a second-set tiebreak before falling in straight sets. Maria Gento battled to three sets at No. 2 singles before coming up short 6-1, 4-6, 7-5.

Priscilla Landi dropped her match in straight sets, and Giovanna Patrocinio forced a third set before falling 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.

Augusta moves to 7-9 overall and 1-5 in Peach Belt Conference play.

The Jaguars return home on Sunday to wrap up the regular season against Georgia College. Men's tennis begins at 12:00 p.m., followed by the women directly after.  Senior Day festivities will begin around 11:30 a.m., with free pizza and music available prior to the matches.
