Carlsbad, Ca. - On a tough scoring day where only six teams were able to break par, Augusta struggled and are now in 29th place after 36 holes. The field of 30 teams will be trimmed to 15 after Sunday's third round and then another cut will be made after 72 holes with only the top eight advancing to match play. The Jaguars were 22-over-par on Saturday and are 17 shots out of the top 15.
No. 5 Arizona State vaulted to the team lead and are 13-under-par with Oklahoma three shots behind and Auburn five shots back.

Stefan Jacobs were the low Jaguar for the day as both fired a 2-over-par 74. Blanchard birdied the first hole of the day but was unable to keep the momentum going. He registered a pair of bogeys on the front nine and made the turn at 1-over-par. He had another birdie on no. 11 but he would register two more bogeys for his final score of the day.
Stefan Jacobs' 74 on Saturday started with a bogey no. 1 but he was able to roll home two birdies before making the turn. The back nine did not start well for Jacobs who made a bogey and double bogey. He did finish with a birdie on no. 18 before signing his scorecard.
The third counting score for AU would come from
Chapman Barnett, who shot 79. Barnett had three bogeys on the front and back nine to go along with a double bogey on no. 12 and a birdie on his last hole of the day.
Dean Wilken carded the final counting score for the team as Wilken shot 83. He had just one birdie on the day. He shot 43-40 for his final score.
Pieter Rossouw Jr. had the non-counting score on the day with an 84. Rossouw did make three birdies on the front nine, but also had a double bogey and bogey. He then struggled over his final nine holes of the day.
