AUGUSTA, Ga - Defending PBC men's cross country champions Augusta University have been tabbed favorites once again by the conference coaches. The Jaguars received six first-place votes to lead the way with 62 points. Flagler earned three first-place votes and sits in second with 59 points. GCSU rounds out the top three with 50 points, followed in order by Clayton State, Columbus State, Lander, USC Aiken, USC Beaufort, and Georgia Southwestern.
Augusta captured its sixth consecutive PBC title in 2024, tying Kennesaw State (1994-1999) for the most consecutive PBC men's cross country championships. The Jaguars swept the top six places at the meet to secure a perfect score of 15 points. They went on to place second at the NCAA Southeast Regional, clinching a berth to the NCAA National Championship where they finished 18th overall. Senior Jordan Robertson highlighted the effort by becoming Augusta's first-ever All-American with a 32nd-place finish at nationals.
Head Coach Jacob Burgamy, who was named PBC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season in 2024, enters the new campaign with a retooled lineup. Just one of Augusta's nine All-PBC honorees returns — Nasrudin Mohamed, who will look to anchor the Jaguars' 2025 squad as they chase their seventh straight PBC crown and 10th overall in program history.
Flagler finished runner-up at the PBC Championship for the sixth consecutive year and closed its season with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional.Â
This year's PBC Championship will be hosted by GCSU, which was tabbed third in the preseason poll. The Bobcats finished third at the 2024 PBC Championship, their best result since 2021, and later placed 13th at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
