AUGUSTA, GA – Augusta University volleyball has been picked second in the Peach Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league office announced Thursday morning. The Jaguars earned one first-place vote and 21 total points in the poll of conference head coaches. Graduate libero Giulia Rodrigues was voted Preseason All-Conference.
"Preseason poll released equals the start of the '25 season is upon us," said head coach Sharon Quarles. "That is an exciting thing! With five returners and 11 new players in the program and still be ranked #2 by the coaches we appreciate the vote of confidence.
I like to say Augusta volleyball has something always 'cooking on the court.' We might be new and in many aspects young, but the guarantee is we are going to make some noise even as we work to figure out our rhythm early in the season. Most excited about Giulia being recognized so well deserved. Counting on her to anchor the back row for us this season.

Augusta entered the 2024 season as favorites, following two regular season titles in a row. The Jaguars finished the regular season tied for third but made their mark in the PBC tournament knocking of regular season champions Lander in the semifinals before falling to Flagler in the final. The Jaguars received the #4 seed in the NCAA Southeast region and dominated the first round with a 3-0 victory. The Jaguars fell to #1 Wingate in the Southeast Region semifinals to end their season with a 22-8 record. Augusta volleyball boasts a new look for the 2025 season, with 11 new additions to their roster featuring five Division I transfers, one Division II transfer, three international signees, and two true freshmen.
2025 Preseason All-Conference Team
Libero Giulia Rodrigues played in all 29 matches last season and averaged 3.71 digs per set. She was also recognized on the Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction.
