Hardeeville, S.C. - Augusta plated nine runs in the middle three innings and cranked out 18 hits on the afternoon to knock off USC Beaufort 15-6 on Sunday. With the win the Jaguars improve to 6-0 in Peach Belt Conference play and 10-5 overall. The Sand Sharks fall to 0-6 in the conference and 3-9 overall.
The Jaguar offense was led by
Nolan Turner's big game. Turner collected four hits, a double and triple, and scored three times. He also drove in a run in the victory.
Aidan Cannaday continued his hot hitting with two hits and three runs driven in and
Kent Moon had three hits, two RBI and four runs scored.Â
After scoring a run in the opening inning, AU added two more in the third. A bases loaded balk and a run scoring single by
Davis Newman plated the other run.
The Jags scored three times in the fourth via a bases loaded hit by a pitch, a fielders choice and a RBI single by
Jake Vachon.Â
In the fifth, Moon started the frame with a single and was chased home on a
Ryan Patrick double.
Jakob Cowart followed with a RBIÂ double and then Turner would single home the final run of the inning.
An inning later, they would plate three more runs. Moon doubled home two runs and would score on a
Ryan Patrick single.
Nine different Jaguars picked up hits in the series finale with seven players scoring runs.Â
Jameson Whittier picked up the win in relief. Whittier went four innings and allowed just three hits.
Augusta will be on the road Tuesday when they take on Shorter for the second straight week.
