AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta men's basketball hosted its annual Stuff the Stadium game on Tuesday night inside Christenberry Fieldhouse, and the Jaguars community delivered a record-setting total of 2,378 stuffed animals to benefit local organizations and charities.
The total marks the most stuffed animals collected in event history, as fans packed the arena and tossed stuffed animals onto the court after Augusta scored its first points of the night. Augusta University President Russell T. Keen and First Lady Karen Keen joined students and fans in the celebration, helping throw stuffed animals on the court following the opening basket.
The game was played in front of 1,889 fans as Augusta battled Columbus State in a Peach Belt Conference matchup.
Columbus State (15-7, 9-5 Peach Belt) edged Augusta (9-15, 4-10 Peach Belt), 70-67.
Elías Pálsson led Augusta with 20 points, shooting 4-for-6 from three, while Matias Zanotto added 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting. Luis Nonfon finished with six points and a team-high six rebounds, and Tobias Prall and Camryn Pacheco each scored six.
Columbus State was led by Lee Langstaff II with 17 points. Marlon Smith and Pascal Volz each scored 12, while Jaylen Harris added 11 off the bench.

Augusta returns to action Saturday, Feb. 7 on the road at Georgia College. The Jaguars will return home on Wednesday, Feb. 11 to host Lander for the Military Appreciation Game at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
