Augusta Men Fall to Georgia College On the Road

Milledgeville, Ga.- Georgia College pulled away from Augusta in the final ten minutes of the game and picked up a 86-76 win over the Jaguars Saturday afternoon in the Centennial Center on the campus of Georgia College. Khalil Green poured in a game high 31 points to lead the Bobcats to the win. Augusta is now 4-11 in the Peach Belt Conference and 9-16 overall. Georgia College improves to 9-5 in conference play and 14-8 overall. 

The Jaguars had four players score in double figures with Kyndon Wilburg leading the way with 15 points and five assists. Charlie McBeath and  Elías Pálsson each had 14 points and Daniel Daramola tallied a career high 11 points.

With just under 10 minutes to play, Daramola hit a pair of free throws to give AU a 57-56 lead. The Bobcats would score the next seven points and would not look back as they picked up the series sweep over the Jaguars. 

Georgia College shot a sizzling 68% in the second half and finished the game shooting 46%. Augusta shot 43% and had a two point lead at halftime. The Bobcats also went to the line 40 times and made 32 free throws compared to AU hitting 19 of 22 of their free throws. The Jaguars had a three rebound edge but turned the ball over four more times than Georgia College. 

McBeath led Augusta with seven rebounds. 

The Jaguars will next be in action Wednesday night when they host Lander with tip off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
