AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University men's tennis has moved up to No. 21 in the latest ITA Division II national rankings released March 11.
The Jaguars are 6-5 overall this season after opening the spring with a challenging schedule that included several nationally ranked opponents and Division I programs.
One of Augusta's biggest wins came with a 4-0 victory over then-No. 12 Assumption in Hilton Head, S.C. The Jaguars have also picked up narrow 4-3 wins this season against Emmanuel, Coker and Francis Marion.
Since the Assumption win, Augusta split its two most recent matches at home, falling 4-0 to Auburn Montgomery before bouncing back with a 7-0 sweep of Benedict on March 9.
Earlier this season, the Jaguars also faced Belmont Abbey along with Division I opponents Campbell and The Citadel, with both DI matches decided by 4-3 scores.
The Peach Belt Conference continues to feature several nationally ranked teams, led by Flagler at No. 3 in the country. North Georgia is ranked No. 12 while Lander checks in at No. 24 in this week's poll.
Augusta will continue Peach Belt Conference play as the spring season moves forward.
