Cochran, Ga.- The Augusta baseball team collected just four hits and fell to Middle Georgia 15-4 Saturday afternoon in Cochran, Ga. The Jaguars are now 13-11 overall and 9-5 in Peach Belt Conference play. The Knights improve to 9-18 overall and 4-11 in conference play.
AU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning when
Aidan Cannaday drew a bases loaded walk and
Kent Moon followed with a sacrfice fly.
Middle Georgia would respond with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first.
Then, in the second, the Jags would tie the game on a
Mattheson Go sacrifice fly that plated
Jakob Cowart.
The Knights would score multiple runs in four of the next six innings for the victory.
It wasn't until the seventh when AU would score again, this time Cannaday delivered a single that plated
Nolan Turner.
Nolan Turner, Cannaday,
Jake Vachon and Cowart collected the hits for Augusta.
The two teams will finish the series Sunday afternoon.
