AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's tennis team earned a 4-0 victory over USC Sumter on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at home.
Augusta opened the day by securing the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Alejandro Carbonell and Humberto Pinto led the way with a 6-1 victory, while David Perret and Alexis Bailhache followed with a 7-5 win. Arthur Valette and Tommy Matsumine completed the sweep with a 6-4 decision.
In singles play, the Jaguars quickly clinched the match with three straight-set victories. David Perret earned a 6-1, 6-0 win, Enzo Sakiyama followed with a 6-0, 6-2 result, and Humberto Pinto secured a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Alexis Bailhache was leading 6-3, 5-5 in his match when play was halted after the team result was decided.
Augusta returns to action Wednesday, March 25 at North Georgia.
