AMERICUS, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team earned a 6-0 victory over Georgia Southwestern on Tuesday afternoon in Peach Belt Conference action at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.
Augusta claimed the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Andrea Gonzalez and Maria Gento led the way with a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Priscilla Landi and Julieta Palma added a 6-2 win at No. 2. Camila Taborga and Giovanna Patrocinio completed the sweep with a 6-0 result at No. 3 doubles.
The Jaguars continued their strong play in singles, winning five completed matches. Andrea Gonzalez earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory, while Priscilla Landi followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Luciana Bejarano picked up a 6-0, 6-3 decision, Giovanna Patrocinio added a 6-1, 6-1 victory, and Camila Taborga secured a 6-0, 6-0 win.
The match at No. 2 singles featuring Maria Gento was left unfinished when the team result was decided.
Augusta improves to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in Peach Belt Conference play.
The Jaguars return to action on Thursday, April 2 at Francis Marion.
