AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's tennis team posted a dominant 7-0 victory over Benedict on Monday afternoon as the Jaguars continued the spring season.
Augusta secured the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Humberto Pinto and Alejandro Carbonell opened the day with a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Alexis Bailhache and David Perret followed with a 6-0 win at No. 2. The duo of Arthur Valette and Tommy Matsumine completed the sweep with a 6-0 result at No. 3 doubles.
The Jaguars carried that momentum into singles play, winning all six matches.
At No. 1 singles, David Perret battled through a three-set match to secure a 6-2, 4-6, 10-3 victory. Alexis Bailhache earned a straight-set win at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0, while Arthur Valette added a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 3.
Alejandro Carbonell dominated at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Redwane Bouhadja followed with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5, and Mattia Lenoci completed the sweep with another 6-0, 6-0 result at No. 6 singles.
Augusta returns to action on March 12 at Middle Georgia.
