Aiken, S.C. -
Nathan Martin drove in four runs with two hits, but it was not enough as USCA completed the sweep of Augusta with a 16-6 win Saturday afternoon at Roberto Hernandez Stadium. The Jaguars are now 11-13 in Peach Belt Conference play and 16-24 overall. The Pacers improve to 16-7 in conference action and 29-12 overall. For the second straight game, USCA held AU to just five hits.
The Jaguars jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third when Martin cracked a two-run homer that plated
Kent Moon in front of him.Â
The Pacers would get one in the bottom of the inning, but the Jags would strike right back in the fifth. Following walks to
Jakob Cowart and
Aidan Cannaday,
Harris Bachelder would double down the left field line plating both Cowart and Cannaday.Â
USCA would take control of the game scoring 12 times in the next two innings. The final two Augusta runs would come again off the bat of Martin who connected on a two-run double.Â
The Jaguars will next be in action Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Jaguar Field when Emmanuel comes to Augusta.Â
