Jaguars Earn 4-2 Road Win at Francis Marion

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Augusta University women's tennis team picked up a 4-2 victory over Francis Marion on Thursday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at the Kassab Courts.

Augusta secured the doubles point with wins on two courts. Maria Gento and Andrea Gonzalez earned a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Camila Taborga and Giovanna Patrocinio followed with a 7-5 win at No. 3. The No. 2 doubles match featuring Julieta Palma and Priscilla Landi was left unfinished.

The Jaguars clinched the match in singles play with three victories. Luciana Bejarano earned a 6-1, 6-4 win, while Camila Taborga added a 6-4, 6-4 victory. Julieta Palma secured the deciding point with a 6-4, 6-0 result.

Andrea Gonzalez and Maria Gento both fell in their matches, while the contest at No. 4 singles featuring Priscilla Landi was left unfinished.

Augusta returns home on Saturday, April 4 to face No. 15 Flagler College at 12:00 p.m.
