Aidan Cannaday had two hits and three runs driven in, but it was not enough as Emmanuel knocked off Augusta 5-4 Tuesday night in Franklin Springs, Ga. Augusta is now 16-21 on the year while the Lions improve to 17-21.
Cannaday started the scoring in the first inning.
Landon Leonard walked and
Nolan Turner followed with his first hit of the game. Then Cannaday would double to left center driving in both runs as AU was out quickly to a 2-0 lead.
Emmanuel would score four straight runs to take a 4-2 lead. But in the fifth, Cannaday would draw a bases loaded walk to make it 4-3.
The Jags would tie it in the sixth when
Nathan Martin would double home
Kent Moon with Augusta's fourth run. The Lions would score in the bottom of the frame for the last run of the game as the Jaguars would strand 11 base runners in the game.Â
Ryan Patrick,
Jakob Cowart and
Harris Bachelder would also collect hits on the game.Â
Augusta returns to conference play when they travel to USCA for a three game series. Game one will be on Thursday night at 6 p.m. in Aiken.Â
