CARROLLTON, Ga. -
Augusta State earned a split on Friday in the first day of the
Wolves Invitational, hosted by West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga. ASU
defeated North Alabama 2-1 in the first game, before falling 2-0 to
West Alabama in game two.
ASU sophomore Sara DeMuth (1-1) earned the win and improved to 7-1
on the season. DeMuth had 11 strikeouts on the day.
Laura Brown had two hits in game one. Alyssa Pingree had a homerun
in the sixth inning that also scored DeMuth who reached on a
hit.
In game two against West Alabama, Emily Corish was tagged with the
loss and dropped to 5-2 overall. Kimberly Kennedy relieved Corish
in the seventh.
The Jaguars had only two hits in the second game.
The Jaguars (16-4) take on Rollins at 9:00 a.m., Saturday before
facing Barry at 11:00 a.m.
