AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State men's tennis team enjoyed a successful season opener Tuesday afternoon, topping Abraham Baldwin 7-2 at Newman Tennis Center.
Juniors Bernardo Fernandes and Henrique Boturao and each went 2-0 on the day, claiming singles wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The duo then combined for an 8-2 win in at No. 1 doubles.
Jan Labas, Victor Guimaraes and Jenner Stevenson all posted singles wins for the Jags.
The ASU men's and women's tennis squads host Wingate on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 2 at 2:30 p.m., at Newman Tennis Center. The match will mark the season opener for the Lady Jaguars.
