Box Score 2 AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team hosted the Mars Hill Mountain Lions on Wednesday afternoon and dropped a 12-9 a non-conference game at Jaguar Field. Augusta (4-16) battled back and forth with Mars Hill (7-16). The Mountain Lions scored three runs in the extra inning to win 12-9.
The Jags gave up three runs after a 1st inning home by Tyler Lala. Augusta answered with 2 runs in each the second and third inning. Skylor murphy started the offense with a double that allowed Jose Nogueras and John Paul to score. A stolen home base by Mason Robertson gave the Jaguars a 4-3 lead. John Paul homered in the 7th inning to tie the score 7-7. Both teams went into the 10th inning tied 9-9. Mars Hill capitalized on Augusta errors to seal the win.
Rylan Laird made his first collegiate start for Augusta and allowed 2 hits for 3 runs. After Ethan Dodd pitched 3.0 innings, he was replaced by Trevor Gordon for 2.1 innings, Austin Heard for 1.0 innings, Chase Horton for 2.0 innings, and Joseph Pittman for 1.0 inning.
