COLUMBIA, SC. – The Augusta University Men's Track & Field team ran in two separate events this past weekend: The Trojan Opener and the CIU Rams Invitational.
CIU RAMS INVITATOINAL
Kai Brickey had a strong 800m race, finishing third with a time of 1:55.23. Amir Dyal also had a top-10 finish in the event.
In the 400m hurdles, The Jaguars had three runners finish in the top 10.
Xavier Allen led with a 57.52 (4
th).
Terrell Stokes ran a 1:00.05 (6
th) and
Sawyer Whatley ran a 1:04.02 (9
th).
Augusta's 4x400m relay carded yet another top-five finish.
Xavier Allen,
Daniel Forrester,
Terrell Stokes, and
Imo Sunday posted a time of 43.23.
Augusta also put fourth two separate 4x400m teams.
Jason Cruise,
Matthew Merisme,
Terrell Stokes, and
Jared Talman finished 8
th overall in 3:37.97. Caleb Caririlo de Albornoz, Ben Mattson,
Kai Brickey, and
Amir Dayal finished ninth with a 3:39.23
Imo Sunday and
Daniel Forrester both carded top-10 finishes in the 400m. Sunday ran a time of 52.57 and Forrester ran a 52.97. Tremmond Hatten finished in 11
th place just after his teammates.
Jared Talman led all Augusta 100m runners with a time of 11.82.
Xavier Allen was just shy of that time, finishing in 11.85.
Jason Cruise was the top Augusta 200m performer- finishing with a time of 23.17
Jackson Brumfield was the lone field performer for AU, coming in 6
th at a 3.35m mark.
TROJAN OPENER
Augusta men's distance runners continued to showcase their dominance in the Trojan Opener.
Patrick Motes won the 1500m event with a time of 3:58.12. Grant Crabtree (5
th) finished in 4:00.91 and
Andrew Todd (8
th) finished in 4:04.77.
In the men's 5000m, Augusta captured six of the top ten spots in.
Hans Troyer finished first, setting a new personal best at 14:48.72.
Avery Jaynes finished second in 14:51.07.
Thomas Rischar carded fourth with a time 14:52.34.
Cameron Watson,
Carlos Rodriguez, and
Matthew Moore carded the 8
th, 9
th, and 10
th spot.
