GREENWOOD, SC – The Augusta University women's tennis team competed at the 2024 Lander Bearcat Invitational, with matches on both Friday and Saturday. The Jaguars faced North Greenville and Young Harris in singles and doubles competitions.

Friday, Oct 13 – Matches vs. North Greenville

• Doubles:

  • Landi/Gonzalez lost to Watson/McKenzie, 3-6.
  • Palma/Bejarano lost to Chapman/Gunter, 2-6.
  • Patrocinio/Taborga lost to Turner/Ball, 1-6.

• Singles:

  • Luciana Bejarano lost to Abigail Watson, 4-6, 6-4, 5-10.
  • Julieta Palma lost to Mikayla McKenzie, 4-6, 4-6.
  • Giovanna Patrocinio lost to Ashlen Chapman, 3-6, 1-6.
  • Sofia Marquez lost to Riley Gunter, 1-6, 1-6.

Friday, Oct 13 – Matches vs. Young Harris

• Doubles:

  • Gonzalez/Palma defeated Simone/Taba, 6-3.
  • Landi/Taborga won against Maud/Holly, 6-4.
  • Patrocinio/Marquez won against Callie/Vivi, 7-6 (2).

• Singles:

  • Andrea Gonzalez won against Simone Mercier, 7-6 (5), 6-3.
  • Priscilla Landi won against Futaba Saito, 6-3, 1-6, 10-8.
  • Camila Taborga defeated Viviana Gomez, 7-6 (4), 6-0.
  • Julia Palma defeated Maud Scholten, 7-5, 6-3.

Saturday, Oct 14 – Matches vs. Lander

• Doubles:

  • Landi/Gonzalez lost to Velasco/Pacheco, 3-6.
  • Patrocinio/Bejarano lost to Ramirez/Smith, 2-6.
  • Palma/Taborga lost to Marchesi/Da Silva, 4-6.

• Singles:

  • Andrea Gonzalez lost to Valentina Pacheco, 5-7, 4-6.
  • Priscilla Landi was defeated by Chloe Velasco, 2-6, 3-6.
  • Luciana Bejarano lost to Sofía Ramirez, 4-6, 2-6.
  • Julieta Palma lost to Marcela Marchesi, 3-6, 1-6.

Augusta will return to  Lander Oct. 18-19 for the Lander Invitational.
