SPARTANBURG, SC – The Augusta University men's cross country team secured a strong second-place finish at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship on Saturday, earning a spot at the upcoming NCAA National Championship in Sacramento, California.
RESULTS
PBC Runner of the Year Avery Jaynes led the Jaguars with an impressive 8th-place finish, completing the 10k course in 29:44.9. Close behind, senior Jordan Robertson took 10th place with a time of 30:05.6. PBC Freshman of the Year Ani Tesfaye crossed the line in 13th place, recording a time of 30:28.7. Brandon Martin, another senior standout, finished 20th with a time of 31:06.5, and sophomore Tripp Miller rounded out the top five for Augusta in 23rd place, clocking in at 31:17.9.
Senior Patrick Motes placed 29th in 31:27.9 and sophomore Nasrudin Mohamed, who finished 42nd in 32:03.7.
Individual Results:
The Jaguars' combined efforts resulted in a total of 74 points, solidifying their second-place standing behind Wingate University. With this result, AU advances to the NCAA National Championship, set to take place on Nov. 23 in Sacramento.
