NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Augusta University men's cross-country team has risen to No.11 in the NCAA DII national poll, released by the U.S Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association on Wednesday afternoon.
The Jaguars are ranked No. 2 in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Poll. Defending National Champion Wingate continues to hold the No. 1 spot.
On opening weekend, the Jaguars secured a second-place finis
h at the Fire Tower Project hosted by Appalachian State. Competing primarily against Division I programs, the Jaguars were the top Division II team with a total team time of 2:02:55 and an average time of 24:35.
Avery Jaynes led the way for Augusta, finishing 3rd overall with a time of 23:59.0. Tripp Miller took 8th place with a time of 24:32.4, and
Jordan Robertson followed in 10th place, clocking in at 24:40.1.
Patrick Motes and
Andrew Todd finished in 13th and 14th places, recording times of 24:49.9 and 24:53.8, respectively.
Brandon Martin finished 16th with a time of 24:57.8, while
Nasrudin Mohamed completed the race in 25:13.9, placing 26th.
