Jaguars Compete at Emory Spring Break Classic

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's track and field team continued its outdoor season with a strong showing at the 2025 Emory Spring Break Classic, held March 21–22 at the Woodruff P.E. Center. The Jaguars posted several top-10 finishes and solid marks across sprint, distance, field, and relay events.

Sprints and Relays
Josalyn Branch led the sprint group with a 10th-place finish in the 100 meters (12.13). Madison Mitchell placed 23rd in the same event (12.77), followed by Nene Akaose in 40th (13.14).

In the 200 meters, Branch returned to place 23rd (25.68), with Mitchell clocking 26.34 and Madison Mills finishing in 27.27.

Augusta's 4x100-meter relay team of Akaose, Mitchell, Janiya England, and Branch placed eighth overall with a time of 48.81.

Middle Distance
Brie Andrews paced the Jaguars in the 800 meters with a 10th-place finish in 2:22.64. Freshman Ana Biondolillo followed in 50th with a time of 2:43.73.

In the 1500 meters, Grace Gyetko led the way with a time of 4:55.54 for 16th place. Cheyenne Ryan also competed, placing 12th in her section with a 5:22.93 finish.

Distance
Danielle Thayer was the top finisher for Augusta in the 5000 meters, placing 9th in 18:53.06. She was joined by Swaye Mohler (19:39.50) in 19th and Jupiter Boers (21:02.37) in 21st.

Hurdles
Janiya England ran 1:14.23 to place 35th in the 400-meter hurdles. Rebekah Klossner also represented Augusta in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.55.

Jumps and Throws
In the long jump, Akaose placed 5th overall with a mark of 5.56m (18' 3"). Klossner recorded a jump of 3.74m (12' 3.25"), while Mills did not record a mark. In the high jump, Paige Justice cleared 1.45m (4' 9") to finish 16th.

In the throws, Jala Williams led Augusta with a 10.17m (33' 4.5") mark in the shot put and added a 31.70m (104' 0") effort in the discus for 30th place. Keeva Tracey threw 9.55m (31' 4") in the shot put and 22.81m (74' 10") in the javelin. Klossner also competed in the shot put (7.69m / 25' 2.75").

UP NEXT: The Jags will compete at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State March 27-29.
