Jaynes Posts No. 3 NCAA DII Time, Breaks PBC All-Time 10K Record at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Augusta University men's track and field turned in elite performances at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State from March 27–29, highlighted by a school record and national top-three mark in the 10,000 meters.

Distance
Senior Avery Jaynes shattered the program record and set a new Peach Belt Conference all-time best with a time of 28:59.21 in the 10,000 meters. The performance placed him third nationally in NCAA Division II and earned him a provisional qualifying mark for nationals. Jaynes finished 46th overall in a stacked Division I field.

Middle Distance
Freshman Seth Eye recorded a personal-best time of 1:52.21 in the 800 meters to finish 70th in his section. The mark puts him just one second away from the NCAA provisional standard.

Jumps
Sophomore Mitchell Jean Baptiste cleared 1.95m (6' 4.75") in the high jump to place 23rd overall. His current season-best of 2.05m, achieved earlier this year, still ranks among the top 10 marks in NCAA Division II this season.

Augusta will return to action April 4-5  at the Electric City Invitational hosted by Anderson University
