AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team has earned a No. 45 national ranking in the latest ITA Division II Top 50, marking the program's first appearance in the national rankings this season.
The Jaguars (13-5, 2-3 PBC) have won four straight matches and continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Augusta's schedule reflects the level of competition in the Southeast Region—widely considered one of the deepest and most challenging in the country.
The Peach Belt Conference features four other teams currently ranked in the top 50 nationally, including No. 4 Flagler, No. 11 North Georgia, No. 12 Columbus State, and No. 33 Georgia College. Outside of the league, the Jaguars also squared off against No. 15 Auburn Montgomery and picked up a key win over No. 50 Coker on the road.
The Jaguars most recently notched victories over Emmanuel, Montevallo, Georgia Southwestern, and Lander at home, entering the final week of the regular season on a four-match win streak.
Augusta closes out the regular season with a road trip to No. 4 Flagler on April 17 before returning to Columbus, Ga., for the Peach Belt Conference Tournament beginning April 25.
