Jaguars Ninth in Latest NCAA Southeast Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Augusta University women's tennis team is ranked ninth in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, Augusta holds a 13-6 overall record and is 11-5 within the region. The rankings are based on results through April 20.

The Peach Belt Conference is well represented in the region rankings, with five teams among the top ten: North Georgia (15-6) is No. 2, Columbus State (13-4) is No. 3, Flagler College (18-4) is No. 4, Georgia College (14-5) is No. 6, and Augusta (13-6) is No. 9.

Catawba (23-0) from the South Atlantic Conference leads the region at No. 1, followed by Wingate (17-5) at No. 5 and Coker (14-6) at No. 10. Lees-McRae (13-3) and Erskine (14-5) represent Conference Carolinas at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.

Nationally, several Southeast Region teams are also ranked in the latest ITA Division II Top 50: Catawba is No. 4, North Georgia is No. 5, Flagler is No. 7, Columbus State is No. 10, Wingate is No. 17, Georgia College is No. 28, Erskine is No. 39, Augusta is No. 48, and Lees-McRae is No. 49.

The Southeast Region field includes the conference tournament champions from the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas, and the Peach Belt Conference, along with the top five teams in the region rankings who are not tournament champions.

The NCAA Division II national tournament selection criteria include in-region winning percentage, Division II winning percentage, Division II strength of schedule, head-to-head results, and results against common Division II opponents.
