ANDERSON, S.C. – The Augusta University women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2025 Electric City Invitational on Saturday with a series of scoring finishes and standout performances across sprints, distance, and field events.
Sprints and Relays
Josalyn Branch advanced to the final in the 100 meters, clocking 12.38 in the prelims to finish ninth overall. She returned for the 200 meters and placed sixth with a time of 25.23. Nene Akaose (13.14) and Madison Mills also competed in the 100, while Madison Mitchell (27.60) and Rebekah Klossner (28.68) joined Branch in the 200 meters.
In the 400 meters, Mitchell placed 19th overall with a time of 1:13.33.
Augusta finished third in the 4x100-meter relay, as Mitchell, Janiya England, Akaose, and Branch combined for a time of 48.32 to set a new school record in the event.
Middle Distance and Distance
Grace Gyetko led Augusta in the 800 meters, placing 12th with a time of 2:22.28. Cheyenne Ryan (2:29.46) and Anna Biondolillo (2:39.31) also competed. In the mile, freshman Sophia Cook placed sixth with a time of 5:13.32, while Gyetko returned to finish 11th in 5:27.66.
Madison Kennedy placed fourth in the 5000 meters (18:28.66), while Lily McDonald (19:39.91) and Jupiter Boers (21:28.23) also represented Augusta. In the 10,000 meters, Maria Biondolillo placed fourth in 40:06.75.
Hurdles and Steeplechase
Janiya England scored in the 400-meter hurdles, placing eighth with a time of 1:13.94. Danielle Thayer led the team in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a fourth-place finish in 12:28.78. Swaye Mohler also ran, finishing ninth in 13:08.18.
Jumps and Throws
Madison Mills earned a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.20m (17' 0.75"). Klossner added a 15th-place mark (4.46m).
In the high jump, freshman Paige Justice cleared 1.35m (4' 5") to place eighth. Klossner scored three points in the pole vault by clearing 2.80m (9' 2.25") to finish sixth overall.
In the throws, Keeva Tracey placed 11th in the shot put (10.34m) and eighth in the javelin (26.63m), earning two points. Jala Williams added a 10th-place finish in the discus (33.93m) and threw 9.15m in the shot put.
