Pardo Clears NCAA Mark, Moves Into National Top 15 at Emory Qualifier

ATLANTA, Ga. – Augusta University freshman Kamani Pardo continued his breakout outdoor season Wednesday night with a winning performance in the high jump at the Emory Qualifier.

Pardo cleared 2.10 meters (6-10.75) to win the event and move into 13th nationally in NCAA Division II. His mark also strengthened his NCAA qualifying position with the top 22 declared athletes advancing to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Pardo cleared each of his first four heights on his opening attempt before needing two attempts at 2.08m and three attempts at 2.10m. He then narrowly missed at 2.13m.

With the national qualifying window set to close Sunday, Pardo is in strong position to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships.

Also competing for the Jaguars, Chris Hart finished fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 10.57, while Dorian Chance placed third in the 400 meters in 47.95 seconds.

In the high jump, Mitchell Jean Baptiste finished sixth after clearing 1.92 meters (6-3.5).
