HARTSVILLE, S.C.
– Augusta State fell to Coker in non-conference matchup on
Tuesday afternoon in Hartsville, S.C.
With the loss, the Jaguars improved to 18-18 overall and 6-6 in
the conference, while Coker improved to 17-17 on the season.
The score was tied until the bottom of the tenth, when Coker's BK
Harfst hit a walk-off solo home run to win the game 6-5.
Freshman Wilson Taylor earned the start and lasted 5.2 innings.
Taylor gave up four runs on 10 hits and booked five strikeouts.
Sophomore Patrick Lowe received the loss and allowed two runs on
four hits with one strikeout.
For the Jags, junior Shannon Wilkerson was 2-for-4 with a pair of
doubles, two RBIs and a run scored, while Adam King was 2-for-2 off
the bench with a double and two RBIs and Tim Rawlings was 2-for-3
with an RBI.
Augusta State jumped out to an early three run lead in the third,
but Coker got one back in the bottom half of the inning. The Cobras
then took the 4-3 led in the sixth with a two run single from
Harfst, but the Jags notched the tie run in the seventh.
A Coker run in the eighth gave them the 5-4 led, but an RBI single
from ASU's King tied the game at five and sent it to extra
innings.
The Jags are back in action tomorrow, April 1, when they take on
Newberry in a non-conference matchup in Newberry, S.C.
