Augusta, Ga. - Augusta University baseball coach Chris Howell has announced Derek Miller and Justin Harrington have joined the staff for the 2027 season. 

Miller is director of player development and joins the Jaguars with more than a decade of experience in coaching and player development at the youth, high school, collegiate and international levels. He is a former collegiate and professional player and built his coaching career around developing baseball players through leadership, IQ, and a culture of accountability. Miller also has experience developing and working with international college talent pools. He brings a high-energy development-focused approach to Augusta and has a passion for helping student-athletes to reach their full potential on and off the field. 

Miller has one child, Carla Alaina, and a second on the way in January. 

Harrington joins the staff and is serving as director of baseball operations while working directly with the Jaguar catchers. 

He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in sports management. He brings extensive professional baseball experience to the Jaguar program, having worked in minor league baseball operations with the Houston Astros, Oakland A's and Milwaukke Brewers organizations. His baseball background provides valuable experience in player development, organizational operations and the day-to-day structure required to build a successful baseball program. He not only is assisting with the daily operations, but also helping to develop the Jaguar catchers.

Harrington is married to Kati Harrington, and they have four children -  Wesley, Lena, Lainey and Wade.
