Augusta State topped Limestone 14-9 in a non-conference game on
Tuesday afternoon at Jaguar Field.
ASU combined for 16 hits on the afternoon
With the win, the Jaguars improved to 8-16 overall, while the
Saints dropped to 10-15 on the season.
For the Jags, Scott Shipman received his first win of the season
and improved to 1-0 overall. Shipman gave up only two runs on eight
hits and had five strikeouts in six innings of work.
For Limestone, Cameron Ward was tagged with the loss. Ward gave up
six runs on five hits and had two strikeouts in 1.2 innings of
work.
Tony Baker led the Jags offensively on the day with four hits, two
homers and four RBI, while Kenny Smith had three hits, a homer and
four RBI. Tristan Toorie had two hits and two RBI, while Carl Burrow had a homerun. Four different Jags each had a hit on the
afternoon.
ASU is back in action on Thursday, March 18, when they travel to
Due West, S.C., to take on Erskine in a non-conference game. First
pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m.
