AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Erskine posted a 9-5 non-conference victory over Augusta State Tuesday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium.
The Fleet, ranked 30th in the nation, jumped ahead in the top of the first with a pair of runs. After the Jaguars plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the second to grab a 3-2 lead, EC answered with five runs in the fourth and fifth innings to reclaim the lead.
Senior Andy Onufrak and Ryan Khan each tallied a pair of hits and junior outfielder Caleb Saggus drove in a pair of runs and stole three bases.
John Bolding led the Fleet with a 3-for-5 evening and Casey Winckowski had three RBI, including a two-run homer in the seventh inning that gave EC a 9-5 lead. Will Huff had two RBI and joined Zach Smith and Drew Willlingham with two hits each.
Carlton Watts (4-0) got the win, allowing seven hits and two earned runs in 5.0 innings. He struck out five and walked four.
ASU starter Joah Evans (1-2) yielded seven hits and seven runs -- two earned -- in 5.0 innings. Zach Breaux and Rob Crosby surrendered four hits and two runs in 4.0 innings of relief.
ASU hosts Newberry at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon at Jaguar Field before hosting Georgia College in a three-game weekend series at Lake Olmstead Stadium.
