ANDERSON, S.C. -- Augusta State's Stephen Ramsey and Zach Breaux combined to allow just two hits Tuesday night as the Jaguars registered an 8-1 non-conference road win over Anderson at Memorial Stadium.
Seniors Alex Walker and Casey Hanrahan, along with junior Caleb Saggus, each went 3-for-4. Hanrahan and Saggus drove in three runs and freshman Kevin Dodson scored three runs.
Ramsey (1-2) earned his first win of the season, surrendering just one hit and the only run in 5.0 innings with a walk and a strikeout. Breaux worked the final four frames, allowing just a single in the eighth in 4.0 innings of relief.
The Jags (19-23) blew the game open with four runs in the seventh on RBI-singles from Hanrahan and Matt Smith and a two-run single by Saggus.
The Trojans committed three errors and had only player reach safely after the third inning.
ASU travels to Dahlonega, Ga., this weekend to take on North Georgia in a three-game Peach Belt Conference series. The Jags and Saints meet in a single game on Friday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m., and in a twinbill Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
