ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Augusta State split a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader Tuesday evening with the Flagler Saints. The Saints took game one from the Jags 4-3, while the Jags topped Flagler 3-2 in game two at Saints Field. Augusta State is now 26-12, 7-5 in the PBC, while the Saints improve to 33-13, 9-7 in the PBC.

The Jaguars carried a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning. The Saints offense came alive, scoring three runs to take a 4-3 lead over the Jags. ASU was unable to answer back, suffering a 4-3 PBC loss to the Saints. Sophomore Laura Brown (5-4) suffered the loss for the Jags.

Senior Destiny Echols led the Jags offensively with two hits, while senior Kacey Sims and junior Kristen Jones each added a hit, Sims with a double and two RBI.

ASU bounced back from the loss, earning a 3-2 victory in game two. Junior Emily Headrick earned the win, improving her record to 13-3. Headrick allowed just two runs and four hits in seven innings of work.

Junior Kacee Camp had two hits for the Jags with one RBI, while juniors Jones and Jessica Thornton each contributed a hit, Jones with an RBI.

The Jaguars are back on the road to take on Armstrong Atlantic State for a PBC doubleheader in Savannah, Ga. on Wednesday, April 6. First pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m.
