Augusta, Ga. - One of the highlights of the Augusta University softball season came in early March when junior
Kristyn Ezzo fired a no-hitter against Middle Georgia in a 4-0 win.
Ezzo, who finished the year with a 3.39 ERA, dominated the Crusaders. She finished the game with nine strikeouts with a pair of walks and one hit batsman. The interesting part was all three base runners reached in the first inning. Ezzo would then retire the last 19 batters to complete the no-hitter. During that stretch, just three balls were hit to the outfield as she was on cruise control and kept Middle Georgia hitters off balance.Â
For the year, the Jaguars won 23 games and made it to the Peach Belt Conference tournament.
Ezzo finished the year with a team high 93 strikeouts and picked up seven wins in the circle.Â
