North Georgia Completes Sweep

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – North Georgia plated seven runs in the first two innings Sunday and cruised to a 16-3 Peach Belt Conference victory over Augusta State at Bob Stein Stadium.

The Jaguars (13-36, 4-26) used six different pitchers in the loss. Sophomore lefthander Kip Custer earned the start but failed to make it out of the first inning, allowing five hits and six earned runs while recording just two outs. ASU's Jeff Rice, Brac Barton and Clay Tucker each tallied a pair of hits.

The Saints registered 15 hits, all in the first six innings. Tremayne Toorie paced the offensive assault with a 4-for-5 afternoon that included a grand slam in the opening inning to chase Custer from the game. He added three runs scored and five RBI.

The Jags will take a week off before they wrap up their 2012 schedule on Tuesday, May 1 with a non-conference matchup vs. Erskine at Jaguar Field at 3:00 p.m.
